A, B, C’s of Crochet – Learn the basics: chain, single, double, treble crochet and more. Instructor: Alice Gorman (1 session) Sat. Jan. 31 or Wed. Feb. 18 or Sun. March 15

A, B, C’s of Knitting – Learn the basics: knit, purl, cast on, bind off and more. Class includes guidance selecting a pattern & yarn for a project & a follow-up session.
Instructor: Sharon Richman (2 sessions) Sun. Jan. 11 & 18 or Friday Jan. 30 & Feb. 6 or Wed. Feb. 4 & 11 or Sun. Feb. 22 & March 1 or Wed. March 18 & 25 or Friday March 20 & 27

Using Your Stash – Do you have leftover yarn that is begging to be used? Several ways to use stash yarn (with new yarn) will be shared. Instructor: Sharon Richman (1 session) Friday Jan. 16 or Wed. March 4

Mitered Squares – If you can do the knit stitch you can do a mitered square. Learn how mitered squares can be used to make unusual afghans, scarves and even sweaters.
Instructor: Sharon Richman (1 session) Wed. January 28 or Friday Feb. 20 or Sun. March 22

Make a Sweater - Are you feeling sweater challenged? Learn to use multiple yarns, increase & decrease, pick up stitches, set in sleeves, by making an infant sweater. Instructor: Barbara Charton (2 sessions) Friday Jan. 23 & Feb. 13 or Sun. Jan. 25 & Feb. 8

Stitch Sampler - Learn a variety of knitting stitch patterns: cables, a lace stitch, bobbles & diamonds. Instructor: Alissa Krutoff (1 session) Wed. Feb. 25

Finishing Techniques – Make your garment look professional: blocking, picking up stitches & seaming.
Instructor: Hallie Goldstein (1 session) Sunday March 8

Socks – Learn to make socks using a selected sock pattern and either double pointed or 2 circular needles. Instructor: Barbara Dillenschneider (2 sessions) Sat. Jan. 17 & 24 or Sun. Feb. 1 & 15

Mittens – Learn to make mittens using a selected mittens pattern & double pointed needles. Instructor: Carole Ogram (2 sessions) Sun. January 25 & Feb. 1

Circular Knitting- Learn to knit a hat
Learn to use double pointed needles & circular needles to knit a hat, using a selected hat pattern. Knitting in the round can be used to make a circular throw, a sweater, mittens or socks, to name a few. Instructor: Sharon Richman (2 sessions) Wed. Jan. 14 & 21

Class times: Saturdays 10:30am-12:30pm; Sundays 12:30pm-2:30pm; Wednesdays 6pm–8pm; Fridays 11:30am–1:30pm;

Class fees: (supplies not included, but a 10% discount is offered on class supplies and a project purchased same day of class)
4 hour class - $55 2 hour class - $30


Advance registration & payment for classes is requested. All classes have a min. and max. registration. 72 hours cancellation notice is required. Only store credit will be given for a cancellation. If “the knitting store” cancels a class, a full refund will be given. A suggested supply list will be provided at registration. It is preferred that supplies be purchased when registering.

Welcome to "the knitting store" blog!


Our blog will be a way to inform customers and prospective customers about new arrivals and current projects at "the knitting store".


Knitters and crocheters of all experience levels are welcome.


For those of you who haven't yet visited us at the store - "the knitting store" offers unique yarns, a diverse pattern selection, knit/crochet-ins, knit-alongs, classes, private lessons, and in-store unadvertised specials regularly.
